What is the VLAIO Cybersecurity Improvement Programme?
The Flemish government offers subsidies for Flemish SMEs, sheltered employment companies, and organisations subject to NIS2 that want to strengthen their cybersecurity in a sustainable and cost-effective way. As a recognised VLAIO service provider, Cingulum can offer up to 50% funding for eligible cybersecurity programmes. For organisations that don’t qualify as SMEs but are still in scope of NIS2, a 35% subsidy is available.

Which organisations are eligible for this programme?
You may be eligible if your organisation:
operates in the private sector,
is a Flemish SME or sheltered employment company,
or a larger, Flemish, business in scope of the NIS2 Directive that has not yet taken concrete steps towards a mature cybersecurity policy,
and your registered office is in Flanders,
and your legal structure, primary activity, and financial profile meet the eligibility criteria.

Our VLAIO-supported cybersecurity programmes are an ideal starting point for achieving NIS2 compliance or working towards ISO 27001 certification — regardless of which standard you choose.
Our experts are well-versed in both ISO 27001 and the CyberFundamentals Framework from the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB). Through VLAIO, we can support the analysis, ISMS implementation, and internal audit phases.
Please note: guidance during the external audit and the services of the external audit body are not covered under the VLAIO subsidy.
Yes, you can scale up from START to MEDIUM or PLUS. Extensions are possible up to a maximum of 50 service days, provided the total remains under €60,000 (excl. VAT).
Upgrades or add-ons must be requested no later than six months after completion of the initial MEDIUM or PLUS package.
Not enough days for your plan? You can request up to 50 days max. You can do this max. 6 months after the final project has finished.
You can only request extra days on a Medium or Plus programme.
That depends on the package you choose and any optional extensions. VLAIO covers 50% or 35% of the total cost.
